The web and print designer is a resourceful, highly creative and technologically skilled individual who plays a critical role within GonzagaÂ’s Marketing and Communications Department (MarCom). He/she assists and works together with the senior interactive/web designer to create, maintain and redesign web pages on the Gonzaga University web site, Gonzaga-related web sites (including social media sites), web-based marketing campaigns, HTML e-mails, e-newsletters, multimedia productions and other interactive initiatives. He/she will also work with the graphic design team to complete print design projects ranging from brochures to advertisements as demand requires. All of these activities require collaboration with MarComÂ’s public relations and graphic design teams, GonzagaÂ’s Information Technology Department as well as various other departments and academic units who are MarComÂ’s internal clients.
Required Qualifications * Bachelor’s degree in related field. Design degree strongly preferred. * Two years recent experience in graphic design and/or interactive/web design. * Ability to work comfortably on Macintosh and PC platforms. * Demonstrated proficiency with: * • Adobe CS (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign) * • Flash Action Script * • HTML, XHTML, DHTML, CSS * • Content management systems * • Mobile devices, i.e., iPhone * • Microsoft Office * Demonstrated knowledge of all aspects and steps of the interactive creative process. * Working knowledge of video/DVD and audio/podcast production. * Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously with limited supervision. * Demonstrated record of project management, time management and presentation skills. * Strong interpersonal, oral and written communication skills. * Demonstrated experience and understanding of customer service. * Keen attention to detail. * A passion for all things digital.
