Outside Sales Representative (Liberty Lake, WA)

A Liberty Lake-based company has an immediate need for an experienced and results-driven Outside Sales Representative. This long-standing, reputable company designs, manufactures, and sells custom precision metal fabrication parts and assemblies to companies around the world. As a key position in the company, the Outside Sales Representative is responsible for diversifying the customer-base, developing new business, and helping the company achieve its sales goals. The ideal candidate is highly networked, and motivated to achieve personal and professional goals.
Duties & Responsibilities:
• Develops relationships with new customers, diversifies the company’s customer-base, and increases sales revenue.
• Maintains ongoing relationships with existing customers, and secures repeat business and growth by recognizing and fulfilling value-add opportunities.
• Identifies new prospects and increases the number of qualified customers.
• Solicits customer feedback and uses the information to improve the efficiency and effectiveness of responding to customer needs.
• Prepares various company documentation, reports, and statistical data for the purpose of soliciting new business, updating the existing customer-base, and tracking outside sales activities.
• Measures the effectiveness of outside sales activities, and provides recommendations to company President/CEO as needed.
• Effectively interfaces with internal management, customer service, engineering, production, and quality departments for the purpose achieving sales goals and contributing to the company’s success.
• Looks for continuous improvement opportunities, and offers ideas and recommendations.
• Develops and delivers customer presentations.
• Researches, coordinates, and participates in appropriate trade shows and product/service promotional activities.
• Ensures compliance with documented Quality/ISO procedures, as well as company and departmental policies.
Qualifications & Attributes:
• Bachelor’s degree in Sales or a related field; technical emphasis desired.
• Minimum of five years outside sales experience, preferably in a related manufacturing environment.
• Knowledge of materials, production processes and capabilities, quality control, and costs associated with sheet metal fabrication is highly beneficial.
• High mechanical aptitude with the ability to read and interpret blueprints prepared for a manufacturing operation.
• A solid track record of increasing sales through executing effective sales techniques.
• Good listener with the ability to communicate information, ideas, and solutions verbally and in writing so others will understand.
• Customer-focused, solution oriented, and adaptable to customer needs within specified guidelines.
• Team player who fosters a collaborative environment and takes initiative to inform others and close the loop.
• Takes initiative; self-directed with strong self-confidence. ‘Can do Attitude’
• Works with integrity and ethical business practices.
• Not afraid to ask questions – seeks help and information when needed.
• Action oriented; results focused.
• Proficient in MS Office applications.
