iSeries Computer Operator IBM iSeries Data Center Operator
Job Description:
This position will work evenings and weeekends, part to full time. In this role you will support and maintain operational activities as they relate to the IBM iSeries by following documented production schedules and operator processes. Person will monitor and interpret console and peripheral equipment messages, diagnose failures, determine and recommend corrective action and modify procedures as required to support staff and clients. This is an entry level job and training will be provided.
Requirements:
A self-motivated individual who possesses the following skills: AA degree in computer science or equivalent experience. One year or more of data processing experience or equivalent knowledge is preferred. Operator must have good knowledge of data processing functions including system utilities, print systems, telecommunications, job flow functions and security needs.
Position requires the ability to monitor and coordinate multiple tasks occurring simultaneously while working with minimal supervision. The ability to follow directions and problem solving skills are required. Good interpersonal, customer relations, verbal and written communication skills are necessary for maintaining effective relationships with staff, customers and vendors.
