The Supported Living division of SL Start provides in-home and community care to an amazing group of individuals with developmental disabilities. SL Start recognizes each individual s needs and goals as unique to that person. Some individuals supported need assistance with daily tasks and routines, while others live a more independent lifestyle. SL Start employees coordinate directly with the people we serve, their families and private, state and federal agencies to develop customized programs and living conditions best suited for each individual s needs and goals. Community Resource Manager:
The Community Resource Manager provides support, leadership and direct supervision to Community Support Specialists to develop and ensure implementation of Personal Support Plans for the persons SL Start supports. Focus is on collaborating with staff, outside agencies, the persons we support and their families to achieve the best resources and opportunities for those supported.
Job Duties:
Prepare and conduct training programs for direct care staff
Promote development and training tools to staff to enhance proficiency in jobs
Attend staff meetings with Community Support Specialist on a prescribed basis
Develop curriculum and resources for persons supported
Develop integration plans with community groups for individuals to participate in
Interface with Division of Developmental Disabilities to access individual services such as exceptional client allowances, counseling and professional consultations
Manage the Supported Living budget to ensure service needs are met within the required budget guidelines
Ensure accuracy and timeliness of all documents required to produce
Keep up-to-date with new opportunities, tools, and techniques in field by accessing professional training and educational opportunities
Share responsibility of carrying the evening emergency pager and respond effectively to emergencies
Qualifications & Desired Experience:
At least 18 years of age
High school diploma or equivalent required
Ability to satisfy a criminal background check and drug screen
Bachelors degree preferred or equivalent number of years experience in a related field
One year supervisory experience in a social services setting preferred
Excellent written and verbal communication skills in diverse situations
Excellent leadership, organization and decision making skills
Knowledge of Developmental Disabilities, positive behavior support, behavior management and training
Positive attitude and great sense of humor
