Database Architect and Programming Professional (Pullman, WA)

The Washington State University Foundation, Pullman is seeking a full time Database Architect and Programming Professional.
This position is responsible for defining, developing, administering, and maintaining core University data and data models to effectively manage Foundation data as a valuable institutional resource and to meet Foundation business objectives.
The Database Architect and Programming Professional has the authority and responsibility for designing solutions based on SunGard's Advance CS/Advance Web. Administering, maintaining and supporting Advance CS/Advance Web, the incumbent will ensure efficient integration, system security and, along with all other members of the team, serve as a vendor liaison for technical issues.
The incumbent will hold the responsibility for evaluating potential technologies that serve the strategic goals of the organization and the authority to implement technological solutions to meet business requirements and professional excellence for the Washington State University Foundation and Washington State University. This position works at all levels throughout the University, meeting with constituents to assess their needs and advise solutions for business requirements.
Along with other members of the IT team, the incumbent will be responsible for providing customer service on all IT matters relevant to the organization.
Successful Candidates are required to have BachelorÂ’s degree and three (3) years professional experience OR a combination of education and experience totaling seven (7) years from which comparable knowledge and abilities are acquired.
Position-specific requirements include BS in Computer Science, Management Information Systems or equivalent experience; 3+ years of experience in development and management of complex database designs using Sybase 12.2/15 or Oracle 10g or higher RDBMS, technologies and solutions; 2+ years experience with T-SQL and or PL/SQL; Experience and expertise in design and integration of data; Ability to design logical and physical models of moderate complexity. Must possess a valid driverÂ’s license, or obtain one by date of hire.
Preferred qualifications include: Experience working with SunGard Advance AW and Harris Connect's on-line community; Knowledge of fund raising best practices; Sybase 12.2/15.x and or Oracle 10g DBA or DBO certification; Experience with data conversion from file system; Experience setting up and deploying Real Application Clusters(RAC); Experience working in a large scale OLTP/ETL mixed workload environment; Experience using TOAD for Oracle and/or SQL Server (third-party tools); Experience with integrating Oracle with a Microsoft Business Intelligence Stack; and Experience with MS SQL 2005/2008.
