Power City Electric, Inc. is currently searching for a strong team player to join our Payoll Department as a Payroll Specialist. The Payroll Specialist will have primary responsibility for processing payroll in the accounting software. This is a fast-paced job that requires independent work and careful, accurate decision making. It also requires the utmost in confideniality and strict compliance with deadlines.
Specific Tasks include (but are not limited to):
Prepare all Union Payrolls - weekly
Assist Payroll Supervisor as needed
File all Intents to Pay, Affidavit of Wages Paid, Weekly Certified Payrolls
Consistently and accurately meet all Payroll deadlines
Other duties as assigned
Experience/Skills/Education Requirements:
Consistently have 100% accuracy in data entry
Maintain complete confidentiality
High School diploma required, Post-high school accounting classes preferred
Job Requirements:
Miminum of 2 years payroll experience. May consider other construction industry accounting experience or other accounting related experience as a substitute
High level of intelligence and self confidence
English language fluency, both verbal and written
Competency with Excel, Word and Outlook
Ability to independently problem solve
Positive attitude
A history of consistent work-related punctuality and dependability
Dedication to accuracy and a true desire to see things done correctly
The ability to work closely with others, obtaining accurate information
Physical ability to file paperwork, access file cabinets, typical bending and lifting associated with an office job
Ability to pass pre-employment drug test and background check, plus ongoing random drug tests
Job Preferences:
Experience with Dexter and Chaney's Spectrum software (formerly Forefront)
Experience with Union Payroll
Experience with Certified Payroll
2+ years of construction industry accounting experience Location: Spokane
Compensation: Hourly Rate/Health & Welfare/401K
