Spokane Industries is seeking a candidate for the position of Design Engineer
Responsibilities of Design Engineer:
• Work as a member of Design team to create new designs for cast products
• Interact with customers, quality, production, technical services to create design solutions that meet customers’ needs.
• Make design changes, re-engineer cast parts, and provide technical support to manufacturing.
• Use engineering principles to standardize and improve current and future production lines.
Requirements of a Design Engineer:
• Creativity, initiative, and problem solving.
• Demonstrated proficiency with design practices and manufacturing process applied to product design for manufacturing.
• Knowledge of the casting process or casting design desirable.
• Demonstrated proficiency with 3D CAD software such as Autodesk Inventor, Pro-Engineer or SolidWorks.
• Experience with solidification software such as SolidCast or Magmasoft. Magmasoft experience a definite plus!
• Well organized with the ability to identify process improvements and solve technical problems.
• Ability to interact with people and communicate clearly and effectively.
