Accounting Clerk I (Coeur d'Alene) Part-time

The Accounting Clerk I is responsible for supporting the day-to-day accounting operations of the facility including preparing deposits of specified funds. Data entry and administrative support are also major responsibilities of this position.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Serve under the direction of the Accounting Coordinator.
• Prepare deposits of vending monies and scholarship tip monies. Distribute documentation to Divisional Head Quarters and appropriate departments.
• Perform data entry for members. Track member demographics.
• Accurately file documents including applications, membership forms, and accounts payables and receivables.
• Research statements and basic accounts payable assistance as requested.
• Respond to customer requests for payment history.
• Scanning, faxing and copying documents as needed.
• Provide back-up to others in the Accounting department.
• Assist with special/seasonal projects as required.
• Maintain strict confidentiality.
• Perform other related duties as requested.
General Qualifications and Proficiencies:
• High school diploma or GED equivalency
• Previous bookkeeping and/or accounting experience, one year minimum preferred.
• High attention to detail, consistent reliable follow through and able to prioritize and manage multiple projects, and meet established deadlines.
• Ability to operate 10-key by touch and other standard office equipment in an efficient manner is necessary.
• Must have excellent computer skills; with working experience of Microsoft Office products. Ability to use new software programs with basic training.
• Excellent math and problem solving skills required.
• Ability to present oneself in a professional manner and maintain confidentiality and sensitivity in relation to information and documentation is essential.
• Service-oriented team player who can take initiative, work independently and quickly adapt in a fast-paced environment.
• Must be able to read, write and communicate in English.
• Willingness/ability to work occasional night and weekend hours.
Physical Requirements:
• Ability to sit for two to three hours at a time, ability to stand, stoop, or walk for a minimum of eight hours per day and lift and carry up to 25 pounds.
• Ability to grasp, push, pull objects such as files, file cabinet drawers and reach overhead.
• Ability to operate telephone.
• Ability to operate a desktop computer.
