Local distribution company has the need for a Part Time HR Professional to fill the following role:
PT Human Resources Generalist
Position is Part Time (20 Hours Weekly)
POSITION SUMMARY: Performs Human Resources related duties at the professional level and may carry out responsibilities in some or all of the following functional areas: employee relations, training, employment, labor relations, affirmative action, and employment equity programs.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
1. Partners with employees and consults with management to communicate various Human Resources policies, procedures, laws, standards and government regulations.
2. Conducts progressive disciplinary action and exit interviews and analyzes data and makes recommendations to the management team for corrective action and continuous improvement.
3. Responds to employee relation issues such as employee complaints, harassment allegations, and civil rights complaints.
4. Represents the company for any unemployment, workers compensation and WISHA claims.
5. Facilitates and/or provides training (including orientation) to the workforce.
6. Maintains and coordinates employee recognition programs.
7. Interviews, screens, and recruits job applicants to fill entry level, professional, and technical job openings.
8. Reviews applications and interviews applicants to match experience with specific job related requirements.
9. Maintains working relationship with managers by monitoring day-to-day activities, implementation of policies concerning wages, hours, working conditions or any employee relations issues.
10. Represents management in investigating, answering, and settling employee relations issues between personnel, supervisors and the Management team.
11. Responds to all discrimination charges.
12. Conducts new hire orientation.
13. Roll out benefit plans, reconcile benefits billings and administer COBRA.
14. Performs other work-related duties as assigned.
EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS REQUIRED:
1. Bachelor's degree Human Resources Management, or a related field.
2. One to two years experience in Human Resources Management.
3. Background in employment law and other government compliance regulations is preferred.
4. Ability to objectively coach employees and management through complex, difficult, and emotional issues.
5. The ability to research and analyze various different type of data information.
6. Must have the ability to make recommendation to effective resolve problems or issues, by using judgment that is in consistent with standards, practices, policies, procedures, regulation or government law.
7. Ability to organize and prioritize work.
