This position is 12 months, 40 hours per week, with an expected schedule of 8:00 am to 4:30 pm.
Position Profile: Under general direction this position is responsible for SCCÂ’s portal website and related components and features and also for other website elements and functions as assigned. The position will assist with the design, development and maintenance of components for the portal and assist the Webmaster (ITS4) and other Web Developer (ITS2) in developing modules for other interactive data-driven Web applications as needed. This position may consult with clients to scope new portal-related projects; respond to work requests and troubleshoot problems from the college community via email and telephone; and respond to internal requests from the Webmaster (ITS4). Beginning monthly salary is $3,726 (Range 54).

Required Competencies (minimum qualifications)
• Proficient in MS Visual Studio environment or equivalent Web development tools, especially as applied to implementation of portal website solutions.
• Proficient in MS C# and ASP.NET, especially as applied to implementation of portal website solutions.
• Proficient in HTML formatting language and Cascading Style Sheets.
• Proficient in JavaScript and related libraries used for client-side scripting.
• Proficient with Adobe Creative Suite (latest or second-to-latest version), especially with Photoshop and Flash.
• Experience with MS SQL Server database design, T-SQL query language.
• Knowledge of Web design and user interface standards and best practices.
• Ability to produce and troubleshoot complex code using current languages and technologies.
• Ability to work with employees with varying degrees of computer knowledge.
• Excellent communication skills both orally and in writing.
• Ability to work on stand-alone projects and as a member of a team.
• Acceptance of the responsibility to promote the welfare and best interests of students at all times.
• A demonstrable understanding and acceptance of the mission, values, goals and objectives of CCS.
• The ability to perform assigned duties in a manner consistent with applicable laws, regulations and goals of the institution, community and technical college system.

Preferred Competencies (desired qualifications)
• Certifications by vendors of technology products, especially Microsoft.
• A bachelor’s degree including 9 semester or 15 quarter hours of computer science courses and one year of experience OR an associate’s degree or completion of an accredited vocational training program in an information technology or related program.
• Three years of Information Technology experience in Web applications development and maintenance.
• Experience implementing custom portal solutions with Microsoft SharePoint or similar technologies.
• Experience developing web applications in a higher education setting.
• English Composition, Journalism, or Technical Writing skills.
