ALK AbelloÂ’ Source Materials, Inc., (ASM) a leading manufacturer of quality allergenic biological source materials, and a member of the global ALK-AbelloÂ’ group of companies, is recruiting for our open Senior Analytical Development Scientist position. Join our stable and growing company and provide leadership and expertise to our workforce located in our new 90,000 square foot facility in Post Falls, ID.
The Senior Analytical Development Scientist is the responsible subject matter expert for analytical activities, including the transferring and implementation of protein and immunochemical assays from the various worldwide sites within ALK-Abell³ to ASM that will support the continuing characterization of allergenic source materials. Other responsibilities include leading the development and validation of analytical methods for the measurement of purity, potency, major and total allergen activity and other quality indicators according to ICH guidelines; transferring analytical methodology to our Product Supply and Quality Control departments; collaborating with internal and external researchers to develop and validate new characterization methods; qualification, validation, maintenance, and calibration of analytical laboratory equipment; training and directing the activities of assigned Development Laboratory Technicians; and accurately recording data, creating and writing SOPÂ’s.
The successful candidate should have a PhD or MasterÂ’s Degree in biological sciences, biochemistry, chemistry or related field, and a minimum of 8 years of relevant experience, or equivalent combination of education and relevant experience. In addition the candidate will have strong analytical and problem solving skills, good communication skills, both oral and written, and ability to prioritize and lead projects. Must be team oriented to work across departments and sites. Candidates must have hands on experience in laboratory information management systems and the statistical treatment and analysis of data. Candidates must also have the ability to work with Quality Systems and regulatory requirements such as: CFRs, GMP, FDA, OSHA, and European Authority.
All positions at ASM require the ability to work around allergenic antigens, hazardous chemicals and solvents and laboratory reagents.
