DUTIES: The Information Technology (IT) Systems Administrator is responsible for the operation and maintenance of the districtÂ’s network hardware and server systems. This position will work closely with the IT Systems Technician. The IT Systems Administrator is responsible for administering the districtÂ’s network infrastructure, server architecture and messaging platforms. This includes troubleshooting, hardware and software installation, compatibility testing, security configuration, and general user assistance. The IT Systems Administrator is also responsible for data backups as well as disaster recovery procedures. The position interfaces, over time, with all users, some vendors, and other IT professionals. Some weekend and/or evening hours may be required.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: Minimum requirements include a BachelorÂ’s Degree in a computer related discipline with at least one to three yearsÂ’ experience supporting Windows in a highly networked environment. School District experience is strongly preferred. Progress toward Microsoft or Cisco certification is highly desirable. This position will require strong performance orientation and skillful strategic thinking. Applicants should be familiar with standard office equipment. Interpersonal communication skills are required and applicants should have the ability to clearly communicate verbally. Requirements also include the ability to write clear and concise technical procedures and to handle multiple projects and request for assistance in an organized manner. SALARY AND BENEFITS: This is a full-time position that will be eligible for benefits and retirement. Placement on the salary scale will be based on qualified experience.
WORK SETTING: This position is located in the Valley District Office and reports to the Information Technology Manger.
