Longtime Spokane software company seeks experienced Data Base and System Administrator
If you have a computer related 4 year degree and at least 4 years of data base administration experience in a Microsoft setting, you are encouraged to apply.
We need an individual who can be responsible for effective configuration, maintenance and optimization of databases and other systems to ensure that systems databases, hardware, operating systems, and software systems are fully functional and optimized. The DBSA is also responsible for implementation, design and overall health of system infrastructure.
In addition, the DBSA will assist project, development and support teams with technical issues in the Initiation and Planning phases of our standard deployment methodology. These activities include the definition of needs, benefits, and technical strategy; research & development within the project life-cycle; technical analysis and design; and support of operations staff in executing, testing and rolling-out the solutions. Participation on projects is focused on smoothing the transition of projects from development staff to production and support staff by performing operations activities within the project life-cycle.

Qualifications:
Requires a Bachelor (4-year) degree, with a technical major, such as engineering or computer science from an accredited university, plus.
Four years professional system and database administration experience. The experience must include:
• experience with database performance tuning and overall health monitoring of databases and other production systems.
• Database engineering and provisioning, data optimization, operations and support, maintenance, research and development to ensure continual innovation and system uptime.
Must have a very high level of knowledge of: Microsoft Operating Systems; IIS, Microsoft SQL, VMware Virtualization, and supporting custom web software.
Ability to understand and communicate with different departments ranging in technical ability. Must be able to interpret and/or discuss information with others, which involves terminology or concepts not familiar to many people; regularly provide advice and recommend actions involving rather complex issues
