Job Summary
We are seeking an Analyst I in our Spokane laboratory to perform environmental analyses and/or prep samples using standard analytical techniques in compliance with TestAmericaÂ’s quality assurance programs and SOPs. This position is full time, M-F, 8am to 5pm. Overtime may be required based on business need.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
-Performs routine lab tasks requiring experience and familiarization with methods, practices and programs
-Prepares samples using standard techniques
-Performs chemical analyses using standard techniques
-Calculates data
-Records and reports data and any unusual test occurrences to the supervisor
-Performs routine maintenance of instruments
-Conforms to lab QA/QC practices
-Has the ability to be trained and become proficient on complex instrumentation including, but not limited to, gas chromatography, gas chromatography/mass spectrometry, atomic absorption, ICP and instrument specific data systems.
-Meets TestAmerica H&S guidelines as appropriate to job function
-Completes general housekeeping in work area
Requirements
Education:
BS or BA in Chemistry or related science
Experience:
Previous laboratory experience preferred
Awareness and ability to meet deadlines in a production oriented environment
Analytical and/or general science coursework
Scientific methods and method compliance
Strong mathematics background
