HR Generalist - Ambassadors Group, Inc. (Spokane) Full-time

People to People Ambassador Programs is a leading provider of educational travel experiences, providing international and domestic programs for students, athletes and professionals. Our programs are designed to bridge cultural gaps and build a better future for generations to come. We have recently hired a Vice President of Human Resources who will be a true strategic business partner and will spearhead human capital strategies and cultivate a high performance work culture. We are looking for a dynamic HR generalist to become part of the team.
The HR Generalist will be an integral member of the HR department and will partner with the VPHR in order to assist with driving HR strategy, as well as fostering organizational and cultural change.
The Human Resources Generalist will administer human capital functions for the organization, including, but not limited to, recruiting, benefits administration and associate concerns.
Description of Essential Tasks:
• Coordinates implementation of services, policies, and programs; prepares and maintains employee handbook and policies and procedures manual.
• Participates in developing departmental goals, objectives and systems.
• Provides guidance and counsel to managers on employee-related matters. Consults with associates and managers to address root causes of work-related problems and issues, attempting to resolve employee relations issues with a systematic approach.
• Addresses improper actions immediately to reduce risk and exposure.
• Responsible for recruiting efforts by scheduling interviews, conducting interviews, maintaining candidate summaries, administering assessment tests to candidates, providing correspondence/feedback to applicants.
• Assists with maintaining associate files and processing paperwork. Coordinates HR activities; is available to associates for HR questions and assistance; is available to assist management staff with HR matters. Provides assistance with Associate Handbook and policy interpretation. Monitors personnel activities for consistent, fair and equal treatment.
• Will initially be responsible for processing, maintaining and filing benefit forms and related information. May be responsible for enrolling all eligible associates in our health and welfare benefits programs.
• Maintains compliance with federal and state regulations concerning employment. Is responsible for EEO annual reporting; maintains other records, reports and logs to conform to EEO regulations.
• Assists with administering all community projects and partnerships with outside non-profit organizations.
• Assists in evaluation of reports, decisions, and results of department in relation to established goals. Recommends new approaches, policies, and procedures to effect continual improvements in efficiency of department and services performed.
• Maintains HRIS records and compiles reports from database.
• Represents the organization in CTR (Commute Trip Reduction). Communicates program information, encourage participation and attend organized events.
• In addition to the responsibilities listed above all associates of Ambassador Programs are required to maintain expected levels of performance in the organization's values, which include: Respect, Honesty, Passion, Innovation, and Performance.
Minimum Required Education/Experience:
• AA in Business, Human Resources or related field.
• 5+ years of direct experience in Human Resources or an equivalent combination of experience/education.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office Software (Word, Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint, SharePoint).
• Knowledge of HR laws and compliance guidelines.
• Working knowledge of HRIS systems, including some data entry and pulling basic requested reports.
• Professional in Human Resources (PHR) certification preferred.
