Human Resources Representative (Spokane Valley, WA)

Numerica Credit Union is expanding its Human Resources team and looking for a Representative with 1 to 3 years years of experience working in a Human Resouces role. As a Human Resources Rep., you will be providing clerical, general office support, backup to payroll, benefits and recruiting, answering general questions and inquires in all areas of Human Resources such as compensation, benefits, recruiting and employee relations programs. Assists in the administration of various employee benefit plans. Assist with Inputting and tracking data for payroll and complies with retention requirements. Compiles and tracks data for full range of Human Resources functions including compensation benefits, recruitment, employment, affirmative action, employee communications, compliance etc. If your passion is helping people come join our Human Resources team!
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned. To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Contributes to the organizations mission statement and goals by providing the highest quality of service, treating each person professionally, with warmth, courtesy and respect, cross-selling additional services, and making a personal effort to make members feel they belong and are important to Numerica.
Maintains and reconciles employee Logo Wear orders and billing. Handling communication with employee. Also responsible for updating catalog on an as needed basis.
Will conduct and provide back up for payroll including compiling payroll records from electronic time cards, prepares data for payroll processing, submits payroll data to payroll processing vendor, processes all changes to payroll records, in time for next payroll processing.
Will provide backup coverage for Recruiter position; postings, interviews, testing, new hire orientation, etc
Will assist with Salary surveys and other types of surveys that are conduct within the Human Resources Department.
Will be responsible for compliance, responsible for filing EEO and Vets 100 reporting and poster compliance.
Will be responsible for the administration of FMLA, HIPAA, ADA
Maintain workers compensation claims and files (OSHA).
Will be responsible for providing clerical support when needed, i.e. Filing, benefit packets, copying, applicant letters, postcard and general correspondence.
Will be responsible for back up coverage on the front desk.
Updates employee files to document personnel actions and to provide information for payroll and other uses.
Will be responsible for the administration of the smile data base. Inputting new employees, deleting employees, tracking the number of smiles received, etc.
Examines files to answer inquiries and provides information to authorized persons.
Back up for coordinating recognition programs that are sponsored by the Human Resources Department i.e. Logo Bucks for Anniversaries, announcements for yearly anniversaries on pop-up screen, 5, 10, 15 year service recognitions, Life Seminars and other employee events
Will be back up for birthday cards, monthly calendar.
Processes employment application for Affirmative Action program. This includes but not limited to sending out applicant no thank you letters, follow up communications, etc.
Maintains and reconciles employee logo wear orders and billing.
Handles employee inquiry of all benefit related questions.
Assist with maintaining file and storage room.
Will be back up for other positions and responsibilities in HR Department.
Maintains knowledge and adheres to all BSA regulations and compliance standards on internal and external policies.
Other duties as assigned.

PERFORMANCE STANDARDS:
Maintains records of all general employees; all employees participating in benefit plans and all status changes. Prepares and balances all assigned activity on a daily basis. Records must be accurate and well documented for internal/external audit purposes. Must present a positive and professional image to members, staff and community through dress suitable to the position and courteous verbal and written communication.
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:
Bachelor's degree in Human Resources or related field plus 1 to 3 years progressive HR experience or equivalent combination of education and experience.
LANGUAGE SKILLS:
Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence and memos. Ability to write simple correspondence. Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations.
INTERPERSONAL SKILLS
The ability to motivate or influence others is a material part of the job, requiring a significant level of diplomacy and trust. Obtaining cooperation (internally and/or externally) is an important part of the job.

OTHER SKILLS and ABILITIES:
Knowledge of personnel laws and regulations relating to fair employment practices. Knowledge of practices and procedures and ability to provide description and diplomacy in interpretation. Ability to utilize Human Resources software applications (i.e. WFN) plus word processing and spreadsheets in Windows.
