ABOUT THE POSITION

OpenEye is looking for a SOFTWARE QA TECHNICIAN to provide detailed testing and problem solving for newly released software for OpenEye products. The candidate should have excellent communication skills and be able to work well with others. The position provides opportunities to learn new technologies and grow with the company. To accomplish this we require a passionate QA Technician to ensure that the product released is without software defects.



JOB DESCRIPTION
The Software QA Technician will be required to perform detailed tests on new software and firmware releases for embedded and PC based systems. Ability to provided detailed troubleshooting and diagnosis of problems found in a well documented manner.



REQUIRED SKILLS

  • Passion for quality assurance of end-user applications.

  • Experience diagnosing, reporting, tracking, and resolving software or hardware issues.

  • Able to handle multiple tasks with different priority levels.

  • Ability to troubleshoot network communications and devices including router issues, layer 3 switch configuration and provide traffic analysis.

  • Troubleshooting skills both for software/hardware, user processes and mechanical operation.

  • Knowledge of basic inter-networking operations and protocols, with a demonstrated ability to troubleshoot advanced networking problems.

  • Excellent verbal and written communications skills.

  • Must be a problem-solver who is flexible and responsible.

  • Must be able to work in a team-based collaborative environment.

  • Will be expected to learn new technologies and take on more responsibilities as the firm grows.


PREFERRED SKILLS

  • CCNA, CCNP, CompTIA Network+ or other certification

  • Knowledge of CCTV Industry (CCTV Cameras, DVRs, Sensors, Relays, etc)

  • Knowledge of electrical wiring, proper grounding, etc
