ABOUT THE POSITION

OpenEye is seeking exceptional SOFTWARE DEVELOPERS to join a new team which will develop OpenEye's next generation products. This is an exciting opportunity to join a brand new project at ground level; the successful applicant will have an integral part to play in building the team culture and development practices, and will be involved in major architectural and design decisions.



JOB DESCRIPTION
The Software Developer will participate in an agile team following a test driven approach, and will be involved in the full product lifecycle including sprint planning, design, coding and the development of automated acceptance and unit tests.



REQUIRED SKILLS

• At least 4 years experience of object oriented software development using C#, Java or C++


• Solid knowledge of IP-based network protocols


• Ability to quickly get up to speed with new technologies and practices


• Excellent critical thinking and problem solving skills


• Strong quality ethic


• Great communication and teamwork skills

PREFERRED SKILLS

• Experience in developing for the Microsoft Silverlight platform


• Cross-platform development on Windows and Linux


• In-depth knowledge of real time video streaming protocols such as RTP and RTSP


• Experience following agile processes and practices such as Scrum and Test Driven Development


• Knowledge of SQL database technology, including embedded database systems such as SQLite
