Senior Software Test Engineer (IRC38453)
Location: US (Spokane, WA or San Jose, CA) or CAN (Ottawa, ON)

We are currently hiring a Senior Test Engineer will develop, execute, and maintain automated scripts for functional, integration, and systems level software testing of Carrier Ethernet Switches within the CES department.
Specific Responsibilities:
Development of test plans and test automation for L2 Carrier Ethernet switches.
Execution and maintenance of test procedures/scripts and reporting test results.
Ensuring software meets standards and functional requirements to deliver quality product to customer.
Work with embedded software, hardware, and test engineers to provide a cohesive end-to-end product.
Consult with development engineers in resolution of problems.
Support diagnostic and test activities to determine performance, validation, and solutions to complex or unusual software problems.
What we are looking for:
In-depth knowledge and experience with test automation concepts, theories, practices and procedures.
In-depth knowledge and experience with TCL/Expect.
Knowledge of computer and data communication systems, networking, Ethernet switches, L2/L3 Ethernet protocols and Real world topologies in general.
Experience with SNMP, Linux and SQL databases.
Experience with Ixia traffic generators and software test suites.
Knowledge of software test processes.
Experience with defect tracking systems.
Desired Characteristics:
Ability to analyze, troubleshoot and resolve complex issues.
Ability to accurately document test progress and results.
Strong inter-personal skills and an ability to understand customers' perspective.
Ability to learn and apply new concepts and technologies quickly.
Independent, self-starter
Strong team skills; Able to follow as well as lead
Ability to multitask and manage multiple projects.
Excellent planning, organization, reporting and communication skills.
Demonstrated ability to work well and stay focused under pressure.
Committed to delivering on aggressive deadlines.
Strong commitment to product excellence.
Education & Experience:
BSEE/BSCS
6+ years of relevant experience in telecommunications and test automation.
