ABOUT THE POSITION

OpenEye is seeking an exceptional SENIOR SOFTWARE DEVELOPER with experience in VIDEO STREAMING PROTOCOLS AND TECHNOLOGY to join a new team which will develop OpenEye's next generation products. This is an exciting opportunity to join a brand new project at ground level; the successful applicant will have an integral part to play in building the team culture and development practices and will help to drive the major architectural and design decisions.



JOB DESCRIPTION
The Senior Software Developer will participate in an agile team following a test driven approach, will help to mentor more junior engineers, and and will be involved in the full product lifecycle including sprint planning, design, coding, and the design and development of automated acceptance and unit tests.



REQUIRED SKILLS

• 5+ years experience with C#, Java or C++


• Experience of developing high performance code using C or C++


• In depth knowledge of video streaming technology, including RTP and RTSP


• Ability to quickly get up to speed with new technologies and practices


• Excellent critical thinking and problem solving skills


• Strong quality ethic


• Great communication and teamwork skills

PREFERRED SKILLS

• In depth knowledge of video codecs such as H.264


• Microsoft Silverlight or related technologies


• Cross-platform development on Windows and Linux


• Experience following agile processes and practices such as Scrum and Test Driven Development


• Knowledge of SQL database technology, including embedded database systems such as SQLite
