Spokane Industries is looking for a Cost Accounting Specialist

Position Description:
To analyze manufacturing cost such as the cost of operations, processes, departments or product, margin. To analyze spending trends, variances to budget / forecast and to produce reports on margin and profitability. Support and prepare reporting for month end, audits, and budget.
Responsibilities
Analyze actual manufacturing cost variances to budget, monitor spending activity and spending trends.
Analyze product margin and costing.
Analyze the cost of different projects and initiatives (loss, savings, ROI).
Prepare periodic reports and assists in budget / forecast preparations.
Partner with key internal customers to ensure accurate and meaningful reporting/analysis and to help in identifying problems and finding solutions.
Prepare month end reports for managers
Investigate inventory variances and resolve issues
Other duties as assigned
Requirements
Technical / Professional Skills, Expertise and Qualifications
Bachelor's Degree in Accounting Desired (Cost accounting specialization is a plus).
3-5 years' experience in cost accounting, in a manufacturing environment.
Uses professional concepts and internal policies and procedures to solve a variety of challenges.
Understanding of manufacturing processes and methods.
Advanced knowledge of Excel, strong knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Outlook, PowerPoint)
Competencies:
Ability to organize and handle multiple priorities.
Quality orientation and attention to detail.
Problem analysis and problem resolution.
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
Experience in cost accounting.
Ability to take full ownership of responsibilities in a fast paced team environment
