As a business intelligence analyst at Signature Genomic Laboratories, you will be focused on making our data work for us. You will be part of a small, talented team that builds amazing software and you will help us ensure our designs drive solid analytics. The scope of this role is big and we expect you to be able to get things done at multiple levels, whether you are working with our internal and external customers to create reports and analyze data, working with the development team to design our products, or designing and building our next generation data warehouse.



We like to use the best tool for the job and you should too. You will get to work with the latest development tools and practices (Amazon Web Services, DVCS, build/test/deploy automation, infrastructure automation, VS2010, ReSharper, TDD). Our current technology mix incorporates ASP.NET MVC/C#, Django/Python, Node.js, SQL Server (and Reporting Services), MySQL, RabbitMQ, TeamCity, and Chef.



At SGL, the world moves fast. You need to be flexible and able to quickly learn new technologies, languages, and frameworks with minimal supervision. You will need to learn science! More importantly, you should enjoy learning.



Education:



1. Four year IT related degree or equivalent experience.

2. Around four years of experience building reports, dashboards, and analytics tools and systems.



Essential:



1. Understand data; how it is stored, archived, aggregated, and analyzed.

2. Relational database knowledge (modeling, normalization, optimization).

3 At least one reporting/analytics framework.

4. Ability to work directly with customers.

5. Ability to communicate with other humans orally and using various writing technologies.

6. Passion for using data to enhance our business.



Bonus Points:



1. DBA experience.

2. Data warehouse experience.

3. Previous work experience in a laboratory environment.
