Tutoring Positions Available (Spokane Area)

Pi Plus Tutors is a local leader in providing personalized tutoring and educational services with tutoring opportunities in the Spokane School District. Locally owned and operated, Pi Plus Tutors seeks to connect passionate educators with inspired students. Job duties include, but are not limited to:
Provide one-on-one or small group tutoring in fundamental reading for middle school students through the Supplemental Educational Services (SES) program.
Administer pre-assessment.
Develop a specialized student learning plan integrating assessment results with state standards.
Incorporate creative lesson plans for each session that align with the goals specified in the student learning plan.
Arrive to tutoring sessions promptly and prepared with objectives to focus on.
Offer on-going educational support to students in targeted subject area(s).
Document student attendance regularly and submit in a timely manner.
Maintain communication with parents, teachers regularly; create monthly progress report.
Maintain communication with management team.
Attend on-going tutor trainings.
Qualifications:
Interest in working with low-income middle school students who are English Language Learners.
Must have at least 6 months tutoring or teaching experience.
Candidate must possess bachelor's degree or be pursuing teaching certificate.
Candidate must be able to speak, read and write in the English language.
All candidates need regular, reliable internet access.
Flexible afternoons/evenings are a must. Tutoring occurs anytime outside of school hours.
Must be able to lift 25 pounds.
All candidates must pass a DOJ background/fingerprint clearance check.
Preferred Qualifications:
Certified teacher.
Fluency in foreign language, especially Karenni, Karen, Vienamese, Marshalese.
SES tutoring experience.
