In-Store Member Service Rep (Spokane Valley) Full-time

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

• Contributes to the organization's mission statement and goals by providing the highest quality of service, treating each person professionally - with warmth, courtesy and respect, cross-selling additional services, and making a personal effort to make members feel they belong and are important to the credit union.

• Maintains knowledge and adheres to all BSA regulations and compliance standards on internal and external policies.

• Provides services to members by:

 Having the authority and proven skill at file maintenance for the creation and revision of address changes, check orders, Debit and ATM cards, comments on accounts and stop payments.

 Taking loan payment adjustments and payoffs to Visa.

 Accepting checks at higher level of authority.

 Processing minimum balance overrides for overdrawn accounts.

 Researching and following up on application extender, including member payments and check copies as well as pulling the previous days branch totals and teller details.

 Processes deposit share, share draft, and other savings accounts,

 Disburses cash or check withdrawals,

 Provides money orders, Visa cash advances, postage stamps and gift cards,

 Processes safe deposit box rentals,

 Purchases Canadian Currency at discounted amount,

 Process loan payments and escrow payments,

 Process transfers between accounts as required,

 Redeems, sells US Savings Bonds.

 Opens, operates and closes Teller computer terminal daily. Accounts for cash assigned and disbursed. Balances to teller terminal in accordance with credit union balancing standards. Expected to reach a competency level sufficient to process 60 transactions per hour an average when called upon (although actual volumes vary) with no more than 1 posting error per month

• Balances and trouble shoots ATM, Cash Dispense Machine and Branch, and assist others with balancing problems.

• Interviews members to obtain information and explain available financial services, such as savings and checking accounts, Individual Retirement Account, Certificates of Deposit, savings bonds and securities.

• Serves as Loan Officer, Teller or takes on other clerical duties when required as assistance in every department may be required from time to time.

• Processes basic financial transactions for members including such functions as opening and closing accounts, issuing checks, processing deposits and withdrawals from accounts, issuing certificates, drafts and other negotiable instruments.

• Responds to routine member inquiry regarding the operation of accounts, access to services, account discrepancies, adding or reducing services features or various accounts and assisting members.

• Refers members for other Numerica financial services to ensure member satisfaction and consistently meet cross-sales goals. Assists in sales and member service promotional efforts. Focuses and assists internal partners including, Member Financial Services, Real Estate and Business Services.

• Works with completed loan application, or personally interviews applicant and requests specified information for loan application. Information may be recorded in writing, or by computer.

• Analyzes applicant financial status, credit and property evaluation to determine feasibility of granting loan and approves or submits application to underwriters for verification and recommendation.

• Corresponds with or interviews applicant or creditors to resolve questions regarding application information.

• Analyzes potential lending opportunities involved in each lending situation to further assist the borrower as well as increase the credit union's lending portfolio.

• Responsible for pro-active soliciting and/or developing and maintaining profitable member account relationships. Acts as "relationship manager" to existing members cross selling the full range of Numerica Credit Union financial products and services. Tracks and measures current member and prospective contacts weekly. Works and refines pipeline management for future closed sales.

• Performs aisle marketing and PA announcements, greets and assist consumers at the store.

• Operates computer CRT terminal to accurately post transactions, access account information, balance transactions and generally update member account transactions and information.

• Performs such other member service functions that might be needed from time to time and assists others to complete tasks and work assignments.
