Social Services Specialist - URGENT to fill (Spokane, WA)

The Carlyle House, a division of Pioneer Human Services is currently seeking candidates for our Social Services Specialist opportunity.
The Carlyle House is located within the city limits of Spokane in Spokane's downtown core area. The residents, up to 139, in this facility are committed through the courts, prison systems and/or county corrections.
Pioneer Human Services (PHS) is a nationally recognized statewide non-profit organization with over 50 locations providing an integrated array of services to include employment and training, chemical dependency treatment, mental health counseling and corrections service.
This position is responsible for assisting Center residents to develop independent living skills and support residents to reach their highest functional level as well as respond to behavioral issues as they occur.
The typical duties will be:
Complete admission paperwork with new residents.
Communicate with resident case managers, CCOs, and community agencies.
Participate in care conferences with community agencies.
Coordinate mental health intake appointments with the Resident Services Coordinator
Complete charting on behavioral issues as observed and reported.
Assist with crisis management, including contacting MHPs when necessary.
Assist residents in obtaining funding and medical cards
Give facility tours to potential admits and community agency representatives.
Maintain an even flow of information for interdepartmental continuity of care.
Create and promote a professional atmosphere within the facility.
Listen to resident concerns and respond accordingly, reporting necessary information to the HSM and/or the Director.
Ensure resident rights and review complaints with the Director.
Report all staff incidents and concerns to the appropriate supervisor and/or Human
Resources.
Ensure that proper hand washing, hygiene, and infection control techniques are exercised.
Adhere to company policies, procedures, and management decisions.
Education and Experience
A Bachelor or Masters degree is Social Work is preferred OR Associate degree with four years' experience in the mental health field or related fields
Must have a working knowledge of Microsoft Office
Ability to work with outside agencies
Must be able to successfully pass a Washington State DSHS background check.
Must obtain a TB test within 72 hours of hire
Must complete, within 30 days of hire, HIV/AIDS Training and CPR/First Aid Training
Must within 120 days of hire complete Mental Health Specialty Training, Dementia
Specialty Training, and Developmental Disability Specialty Training
Must have a valid Washington State Driver's License
Must successfully complete a pre-employment drug screen and background check
Compensation is based on dependent on qualifications and includes an excellent benefits package.
