Field Clinical Engineer (SR-09-009) (Seattle / Spokane)

OVERALL RESPONSIBILITY:
Field Clinical Engineer serves as a primary resource for clinical site management and support for clinical trials of Angel Medical System products. The Field Clinical Engineer provides technical support to end users (physicians & nurses) on AngelMed products. This position closely interfaces between clinical sites and AngelMed field support personnel. Activities include performing any software upgrades or training updates on the product for the sites, transferring patient data to the home office location, reviewing and troubleshooting the retrieved data and providing suggestions related to programming and other parameter settings to optimize the product's performance.
KEY AREAS OF RESPONSIBILITY:
- Provide technical support to end users (physicians, nurses, patients) on AngelMed products.
- Attend clinical cases and provide technical support on product programming and implantation techniques.
- Perform advanced troubleshooting on AngelMed products.
- Facilitate the conduct of clinical trials by working with clinical investigators and AngelMed clinical and regulatory personnel in a professional and ethical manner.
- Help ensure patient safety to the maximum extent possible by adhering to all applicable regulations, standards and requirements related to clinical studies, patient confidentiality, etc.
- Perform on-site training for physicians and other health personnel that might be in contact with the product.
- Provide detailed feedback for product improvement for existing products.
- Perform detailed reporting of product problems and assist sites with returns, replacements, etc.
- Provide input into the product development process for future products.
- Support in-house personnel (engineering, clinical, manufacturing, and regulatory, etc.) as requested to achieve company goals.
- Represent the company in a professional manner at all times.
- Be available via pager or cell phone at all times (nights and weekends included) except when on vacation or at other times when alternate coverage has been arranged.
- Responsible for ensuring and documenting clinical site and investigator training/readiness related to using AngelMed products for participation in an investigation and ensuring those key job responsibilities are carried out in a consistent manner across all studies.
- On-call duties may be required 24 hours a day, 7 days per week.
- Must be willing to travel. Travel requirement: 30+%.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- In order to be successful in this position, the candidate must have excellent communication skills and the ability to interface well with physicians, nurses and other site personnel.
- This position will require intimate knowledge of our product's algorithm and programmer operations; thus, the candidate for this position must have strong computer and software knowledge/experience.
- Prior experience with electrophysiology products, EKGs or electrograms would also be a plus.
REQUIRED EXPERIENCE:
- Bachelor's degree plus 5-8 years of related work experience with a good understanding of specified functional area, or an equivalent combination of education and work experience.
- BS Degree in Engineering preferred
- Experience in implantable electrophysiology products would be a plus!
- IDE experience.
- Clinical field experience. Location: Seattle / Spokane
Compensation: Commensurate with experience.
