Reports To: VP of Human Resources
Purpose: The Payroll Specialist is responsible for all payroll functions, including preparing and processing multi-state payroll while maintaining payroll accuracy and maintaining all payroll records.
Description of Essential Tasks:
Imports data from timekeeping system to the payroll system as well as miscellaneous deductions or earnings as necessary for payroll processing. Provide new hire training and supervisor training on timekeeping system.
Enters new hire information, pay changes, terminations, benefits, direct deposits, address changes, and other miscellaneous associate changes into payroll system.
Reviews, identifies, and corrects payroll discrepancies. Additional responsibilities include computing manual paychecks using payroll system to calculate and provide management payroll information as needed.
Support the Financial Department through, processing journal entries for the General Ledger each month. Reconciles the GL Acct# 2027, 2370, 2109, 2101, 2102, 2103, 2104, and 2106.
Calculates Washington L & I and processes accordingly.
Updates timekeeping system with weekly imports, plus additional input needed. Also updates monthly timecard dates and any maintenance needed by supervisors to adjust time.
Management of stock option program, to include SOX documentation, completion of journal entries, reporting and processing of options exercised.
Support associates benefits though, benefit billing adding/deleting benefit deductions and answering questions.

Education/Experience
Required:
High School Graduate or Equivalent
4+ years of directly related benefit and payroll experience
Preferred:
4 year College Degree in Business, Finance or related field
Experience with Ceridian strongly preferred!
